Our Vision
The Combe Grove Estate came under the guardianship of The Elmhurst Foundation Charitable Trust in March 2017 with three principal aims:
· to practice and increase knowledge in the fields of health and wellbeing
· to create high-quality enhanced apprenticeships for local people
· to share facilities and expertise for the benefit of the local community
Our stunning location informs all that we do. Located within 70 acres of wild woodland and meadow the Estate overlooks Bath, itself an ancient therapeutic city with healing waters at its core. The Estate team combines the latest medical research with the restorative power of nature to help those who pass through our boundaries to reconnect with the primary needs of mind and body and leave with a greater sense of wellness, increased vitality and a sense of restored calm.
With the evolution from Hotel to Centre for Health and Wellbeing complete the Estate now offers:
· The Metabolic Health Retreat
· The Metabolic Health Retreat for clients with prediabetes
· The Club at Combe Grove which supports an active and valued local membership to explore physical and mental health
Our commitment to the environment ensures the land management team uses permaculture practices including no-dig to help proliferate biodiversity in this extremely special part of the Bath countryside. This helps to conserve its ecological health for future generations. Environmental responsibility is at the heart of all decision-making to ensure this land is left richer and more sustainable than we found it.
As health and wellbeing are central to all that we do, Combe Grove operates a ‘No smoking and No Alcohol’ policy for all the team, volunteers and visitors throughout the Estate.
