Access Statement

Not all areas of Combe Grove are accessible to people who use wheelchairs. The Manor House is a Grade II listed building making access problematic, and the wider grounds cover a variety of terrains. If you are planning to visit Combe Grove and you have a mobility impairment we encourage you to speak with our team before visiting to ensure your needs are met.

Dogs

All dogs, including service and assistance dogs, are welcome at Combe Grove throughout the grounds but please ensure they are kept on a lead and under control.  Service and assistance dogs are welcome in the bar and lounge.

Arrival and Reception

There is designated parking for blue badge holders to the left of the entrance into the hotel reception.

A drop-off point is located outside the entrance into reception.

Our hotel reception is accessed via a large wooden door. This is not an automatic door, but a member of staff should be on hand to assist you if necessary. There is level access to the main reception and throughout the ground floor of the Manor House.

All internal ground floor doors are open during normal service hours.

The reception area has seating for guests.

We are happy to assist you with luggage.

If you will need assistance in the event of an evacuation we ask that you let us know when you complete your registration form. You will also need to complete a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan.

The Manor House

The ground floor of the Manor House includes our hotel reception as well as the lounge, library, the Copper Room (our bar and restaurant), and the Orangery. There is level access to these rooms and visitors who use wheelchairs should be able to access these rooms throughout the day.

All corridors and public areas are well lit

All doors and corridors are wide enough for wheelchairs, zimmer frames and pushchairs.

The lounge is a comfortable space with plenty of seating to meet, relax and enjoy some refreshments. The library is available to book for meetings and private dining.

Toilets

All of our toilets across the Combe Grove estate are unisex. Changing rooms in the Coach House are gendered.

Our ground floor toilet currently does not have handrails or an emergency cord. Although it is accessible for some people with mobility impairments it is not fully adapted for use by wheelchair users.

All other toilets are accessible via steps.
Our bedrooms
We have nine ensuite rooms in the Manor House.
Rooms 1 – 5 are located on the first floor, which is accessed via one flight of 27 steps.
Rooms 7-10 are on the second floor, which is accessed via two flights of stairs totalling 50 steps.

The Garden Lodge has 31 en suite rooms and is a separate building to the Manor House. From front door to front door, it is approximately a two-minute walk between the two buildings.

There are 72 steps to the Woodland View rooms, 60 steps to the Valley View rooms, 39 steps to the Garden Balcony rooms and 14 steps to the Garden Terrace rooms.
Rooms 16, 17, 18 and 19 are on the ground floor of the Garden Lodge and are our most accessible rooms.
