A Summary of Visit West’s Feature on the Metabolic Health Retreat, as written by Katy Lewis

The retreat, set in a picturesque 70-acre woodland and meadow, has been derived with expertise from medical professionals and general Practitioners, aiming to transform and optimise health and wellbeing. Registered GPs conduct comprehensive health evaluations upon arrival and departure, delivering measurable proof of the programme’s immediate and continued health advantages. The programme is additionally supported by a range of holistic treatments and practices provided by an experienced team of therapists including; Acupuncture, Counseling, and Osteopathy to name a few.

The programme commences three weeks prior to a six-night residency on the Combe Grove Estate, followed by 48 weeks of online content to guide, motivate and inspire. Through the integration of medical research, the rejuvenating influence of nature, and a network of support, the retreat facilitates a reconnection between individuals and the essential needs of their minds and bodies. This transformative experience leads to enhanced well-being, heightened energy levels, and a renewed sense of serenity.

Scientific research consistently emphasises the importance of metabolic health in overall well-being and longevity. The Metabolic Health Retreat addresses the Five Roots of Metabolic Health: nutrition, movement, sleep, mindset, and environment. By achieving balance in these areas, individuals can experience optimal conditions for a fulfilling and healthy life.

The historical Combe Grove Estate has undergone many renovations over time to become the modern centre of wellness that it is today. Philanthropist Helen Aylward-Smith acquired the Estate in 2017 and established The Elmhurst Foundation Charitable Trust, dedicated to advancing knowledge in health and well-being. The trust also provides exceptional apprenticeship opportunities and shares resources and expertise for the collective welfare of the local community through membership to the Club.
