Museums and Galleries

Many of Bath’s museums and historic venues are looked after by our local council,  BATHNES, a Beacon Council for Waste Management. These venues have taken steps to ensure they are energy efficient, including installing energy efficient light bulbs and hand dryers,  taking bigger steps with recycling, and making a commitment to source local and ethical produce in their restaurants.

The Fashion Museum is one of our favourites, home to many Georgian gowns and accessories, as well as cutting edge fashion from contemporary designers. You’ll find the museum in the Assembly Rooms, where Georgian Bathonians used to play cards, enjoy music and celebrate.

Or make your way to The Victoria Art Gallery, which contains over 1500 works of art from British artists from 15th century onwards, the permanent collection at the Victoria Art Gallery is free to view, with visiting exhibitions taking place throughout the year.
