Sports Coach Apprentice Level 4

About the role

We are a pioneering Health & Wellness Centre specialising in metabolic health. As a Charitable Trust we deliver a first-class Apprenticeship Academy. We are actively recruiting for a Level 4 Sports Coach to join our amazing team in partnership with Bridgwater & Taunton College, a centre of excellence.

The successful candidate will be given one paid study day per week to focus on your studies. This Apprenticeship includes Membership of Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.

About you

The ideal candidate will

Have a personal interest to support one of our 5 Mini Clubs which are tennis, cycling, running, swimming and walking.

Be experienced and competent to deliver motivational gym programmes for a variety of age groups.

Be experienced and competent to deliver gym inductions for safe operation of the state-of-the-art facility.

Have a natural charisma to deliver engaging tours of the Coach House and wider facilities and 1:1 member engagement.

Hold group classes such as HITT, Boxercise etc

Desirable Qualities

· A willingness and desire to learn

· Enjoy hands on learning

· Able to demonstrate attention to detail

· Able to work to deadlines

Desired Qualifications

English and Maths GCSEs at grade 4 or above

Training

Training Provider

Bridgwater and Taunton College are a centre of excellence and our chosen provider.

Enhanced Learning

We will arrange paid work placements for you with our strategic business partners to experience other companies and enhance your learning. We also arrange volunteering and community days which all Apprentices attend together to widen their experience.

Following successful completion of your End Point Assessment you will be supported in career coaching and development so that you are in the most advanced position to find onward employment.

In addition, the successful apprentice will also receive the following qualifications and training:

  • Pool Responder
  • Pool Plant
  • First Aid

Salary

Performance related salary increases will apply to this apprenticeship upon successful completion of each stage as follows

Internship £21,673

Enrolment Entry salary £16,000

Completion of Probation Review to £16,500

End of Year 1 £22,750

Gateway £24,000

Hours and Duration

Total 40 hours excluding breaks per week either 0600-1430 or 1145-2015 as per the team rota working 5 days a week across Monday to Sunday. This is inclusive of a designated 8 hour study day every week.

This Apprenticeship will be carried out over 27 months comprising of the in-learning and Gateway periods. Prior to enrolment, the successful candidate will undertake an internship up to 31 August 2023 to familiarise yourself with Combe Grove our land, food and people.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship we provide an additional 3 months of career coaching and support with job searches, CV writing and interview skills.

Future Prospects

Once qualified you can progress into a variety of roles on your career path such as Qualified Personal Training, Leisure Centre Manager, Gym Manager.
