Partner Yoga Workshop, Sunday 17th February, 2.30-4.30pm
Join us for Partner Yoga and fill your Sunday afternoon with fun and laughter. It’s the perfect place to relax, play and connect.
Stretch and strengthen your body in collaboration with a yoga partner. Together, you’ll cultivate a connection by building trust, and develop awareness of your body to improve your concentration and balance.
This workshop is open to everyone – couples, friends, singles, people new to yoga and those who are more experienced. You don’t need to bring a partner with you in order to attend the workshop. We can pair you up with another participant when you arrive.
Build strong communication
You’ll need to be fully engaged in the collaborative postures, depending on each other to form and maintain each pose. Increase the connection you have with someone as you learn to be open and trust each other.
Create memorable moments to share
Partner yoga is about give and take. Let go of the idea that you have to be the bigger person to form the base of the pose. Be brave and allow yourself to be fully supported by your partner. Size does not matter but intention does.
Learn to fly and let go
It’s easy to take life too seriously. Partner yoga is about learning to let go and have fun. Nurture a more childlike approach to life and learn to love the life you live.
Trust and believe in yourself
When you take the risk to become vulnerable in the presence of another person, you’ll be empowered to trust and believe in yourself.
Create a sense of balance in your life
Partner yoga is all about creating a balance between the two of you; there is no giver or receiver in partner yoga. Both partners are fully engaged in their own experience, each with their own clear role supporting the other person, creating that perfect sense of balance.
5 things to expect from the class
- A fun warm up including exercises both with and without a partner
- Fun and laughter
- A blend of seated partner poses and balance poses
- Developing your trust with your partner
- A soothing relaxation to finish
Wear loose comfortable clothing, bearing in mind you may be hanging upside down. Yoga mats will be provided but you can bring your own if you prefer.
