There is something magical about eating outside in the fresh air. It inspires a sense of excitement, and when the weather is good, you really can’t beat a sunny day in Somerset.
This year we are planning the very first Combe Grove Garden Party and all members and friends are cordially invited to join us. It will take place on Sunday 25th June from noon onwards, and we’re planning an afternoon of delicious alfresco dining with a stream of live music from local acts in the gazebo, whilst we enjoy the wonderful view from our terrace, with some good company thrown in too.
You will be greeted with a fruity glass of chilled Pimms on the lawn, before heading to the bunting adorned terrace for a fabulous barbecue spread. Our team of chefs are not giving too much away about the menu just yet, but expect fresh zingy salads, monkfish satay skewers, pulled pork and halloumi kebabs.
When it comes to the live music, many of you know members Tim & Debbie, but did you know they play in the Jules Verne Orchestra? We are lucky enough to have booked them to play some contemporary jazz, Latin, blues and classic songs with their own special twist. Favourite tracks from their set list include ‘Sunny’ and ‘Hit the Road Jack’ – we’re sure that everyone will have heads bobbing and feet tapping.
We are also very happy to welcome James Hogg, our favourite acoustic guitarist and Club Member, to the Garden Party gazebo. Remember, he takes requests, and specialises in 60s classics, so let us know what you’d like to hear.
Tickets* on sale from Monday 22nd May 2017 to members at £25 and Monday 29th to non-members, at £35. Tickets are limited to 60 so book early to avoid disappointment.
*Ticket price includes a glass of Pimms, lunch and live entertainment. Non-members are welcome to make a day of it and use the facilities before/after the event within the ticket price.
