The Combe Grove Estate came under the guardianship of the Elmhurst Foundation Charitable Trust in March 2017 with 3 principle aims to practice and increase knowledge in the field of health and wellbeing, create 90 high-quality enhanced apprenticeships and to share facilities and expertise for the benefit of the local community.

Our stunning location informs all that we do. Located within 70 acres of woodland and meadow, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Bath. The Team combines the latest medical research with the restorative power of nature to help those who pass through the Estate to reconnect with the primary needs of mind and body and leave with a greater sense of wellness, increased vitality and a sense of restored calm.

About the role

We are actively recruiting for a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice to join our amazing team in partnership with our chosen training provider who are a centre of excellence.

You will be reporting to the dynamic and high-performing Practice Operations team of exceptionally talented Operations Managers and Nutritionists – who are a pivotal team in running our pioneering Metabolic Programmes – and will mentor you through your learning journey.

This team play a fundamental role in ensuring outstanding client experience whilst optimising the operations of the programmes making certain that the highest standards of delivery are met and maintained. You will develop a highly transferable set of skills that can be applied in all business sectors and will accelerate your career progression towards management level.

About You

Highly motivated with a dedication to continued personal development and a passion for health and wellbeing you will also have a proven track record in successfully engaging and supporting a number of teams within an organisation as well as external clients.

A highly skilled planner and problem solver you will have excellent communication skills with a drive to add value to the organisation ensuring efficiency across all functional areas.

You are positive, consistent and dependable with a commitment to maintaining high standards and integrity.

You will play a vital role in ensuring an extraordinary experience for each and every individual.

You have strong time management skills, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.

You will have English and Maths GCSEs at grade 4 or above.

The Apprenticeship

Prior to enrolment with the apprenticeship training provider, you will undertake an internship up to familiarise yourself with Combe Grove and all that we do, our land, food and people.

With this varied and exciting role, you will study towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration with our chosen training provider. You will have 6 hours paid study time each week to focus on your off the job learning. This Apprenticeship includes membership of the Chartered Association of Business Management.

Enhanced Learning

We will arrange paid work placements for you with our strategic business partners to experience other companies and enhance your learning. We also arrange volunteering and community days which all Apprentices attend together to widen your experience.

Following successful completion of your End Point Assessment you will be supported in career coaching and development so that you are in the most advanced position to find onward employment on completion of your apprenticeship.

You will be required to complete and upload relevant evidence to the appropriate e-portfolio system to document your progress and maintain records for off-the-job training.

Performance related salary increases will apply to this apprenticeship upon successful completion of each stage as follows:

Internship – up to £21,750

Enrolment Entry salary – for the first 3 months from enrolment £14,000

Probation Review – for the remaining 9 months of year 1 £14,500

Year 2 – 6 months, following successful completion of year 1, up to £21,750

Gateway – 3 months to prepare for the End Point Assessment £22,750

Combe Grove Career Coaching – 3 months of career coaching £24,000

Working Times

Total 40 hours excluding breaks each week, working eight hours between 0830-1700, working five days a week across Monday to Sunday, some evenings and weekends according to the team rota. This is inclusive of the designated 6 hours study time every week.

This Apprenticeship will be carried out over 27 months comprising of the in-learning and Gateway periods. Prior to enrolment, the successful candidate will undertake an internship to familiarise yourself with Combe Grove our land, food and people.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship we provide an additional 3 months of career coaching and support with job searches so that you are in the strongest position to complete for the best jobs in the industry.

Future Prospects

Once qualified you will be in an advanced position to progress into a variety of roles on your career path such as Business Support Manager or Business Administrator Manager.
