Combe Grove has a new resident!

kestrel-grounds-combe-grove-500

We are very pleased to have identified a new resident at Combe Grove. We have a kestrel! She’s been seen hovering in that distinctive kestrel way to spot prey.

It’s a good sign that Combe Grove is ecologically diverse to support such inhabitants. With our intentions to improve habitat here, this will further support these beautiful creatures.

Interesting kestrel fact: the word kestrel comes from the French word ‘cresserelle’ meaning ‘rattle’, a phonic reminder of their cry. However, the Anglo Saxon word is a bit more visual. They called them ‘wind f*ckers’!
