The Roman Baths

One of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world and the founding site of the city of Bath, this bathing site is still filled with steaming spring water reaching 46C every day sourced from the King’s Spring. There’s much to explore from the Great Bath and plunge pools, to the temple of Sulis Minerva and the interactive museum.

The thermal spring helps to heat the museum and there are high efficiency boilers which heat the rest. The Great Bath is now lit with flood-lighting which helped to reduce the museum’s energy consumption by 60%.
