Master roles

We are inviting applications from ‘Masters’. If you are wise & mature and a natural leader with at least 25 years experience in your career discipline, now ready, willing and able to share this experience with apprentices, please read on.

Head of Finance
This part time role is for a financial expert who would love to be involved in accounts, budgets, reports, company secretarial and charity commission compliance. Our ideal ‘master’ will also have a keen interest in technology.

Head Gardener
The formal gardens, rose gardens and large natural woodland here on the Combe Grove Estate are beautiful. A full time role, you will develop and train a new team to conserve and evolve the grounds, establishing a flourishing kitchen garden on site.

Listed Building Maintenance
A true craftsperson with a passion for the protection and conservation of listed buildings and a desire to pass your skills on to the next generation.

Apprenticeships

Working with local and organic ingredients in imaginative and healthy ways, mentored by a team with many years of experience.

This apprenticeship is for a real ‘people person’ ready to gain extensive experience in guest services.

Building Maintenance Level 2
Do you love old buildings? This apprenticeship is for you. Working on the conservation and care of the buildings at Combe Grove, many of which are listed. Tutored by a highly experienced master craftsman.

Marketing & Business Administration Level 2/3
Marketing Combe Grove as a destination for health and wellbeing requires creative, focused planning and communications. If you’re drawn towards marketing and event planning, this is for you.

Management & Leadership Level 4/5
Our Higher Level Apprentices will be working with our experienced senior team at operational and strategic level.

Accountancy or ICT Business Administration Level 3
A great opportunity to join our Finance team and to get started in the world of Accountancy and IT.

Horticultural & Landscaping Level 2/3
Working in the open air in the amazing natural landscape at Combe Grove, this hands-on apprenticeship offers the chance to develop specialist, transferable skills under the guidance of our experienced master craftsman Head Gardener.

Kitchen team

Current positions available:

  • Sous Chef

  • Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for an experienced  Sous Chef and Chef de Partie to help develop the new food offering here at Combe Grove. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in developing and specialising in a holistic, organic and natural approach.

We are also looking for a Kitchen Assistant, who will maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen to the highest standard by following the appropriate procedures each day. We are looking for a flexible and willing person who will assist the Head Chef in the preparation of meals if required. This role involves use of initiative, energy and foresight to see where your help is required next.

Food & beverage team

Current positions available:

  • Bar Supervisor
  • Various full & part time positions

We are looking for a responsible person to manage the bar and wine service at Combe Grove. We need someone who can lead the bar team using a hands-on approach to develop their skills and talents. The role encompasses responsibility for all the wet stock including ordering goods and stock control.

We also have full & part time vacancies within our food & beverage team. These job roles would suit motivated people who love to work as part of a dynamic team, with excellent attention to detail.

Housekeeping team

We have 40 beautiful bedrooms to look after at Combe Grove and are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated Room Attendants with great attention to detail, high standards and the ability to help out colleagues and work as a team.

Experience in a similar position is beneficial, but not essential, we can provide all the necessary training. There are various shifts available to those with flexibility to work around a shift rota. Contact hr@combegrove.com for details.

Reception & Reservations

Revenue Manager, Maternity Cover

We are seeking a Revenue Manager to implement a strategy to optimize profitability margins. The role will include managing reservations and events, daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting, creating pricing strategies, overseeing strategy for all 3rd party distribution and other duties.

Front of House Manager – full time

We are looking for a person with significant knowledge and experience in hospitality management with a track record of delivering the highest levels of individual service in both Reception and Reservations, coupled with a keen sense of developing and maximising revenue opportunities. A sound understanding of revenue management would be a distinct advantage.

Working as part of the new team of managers this role is key in establishing an excellent, responsive Front of House service for the whole organisation which will support the Charity in achieving it’s purpose. We are looking for a highly-organised team player who has the energy and creativity to meet this new challenge and turn it into the opportunity to make a difference.
